Jordan extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They breezed past the Apex Cougars to the tune of 53-7. Considering the Falcons have won three contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Jordan to victory were Damien Hayes and Landon Melton. Hayes rushed for 188 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, while Melton rushed for 149 yards and one TD on only five carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Hayes a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jordan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

As for Apex, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Jordan is ranked 20th).

Despite the loss, Apex still got an impressive performance from Kaiden Dupree, who rushed for 120 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Jordan has already played their next matchup, a 28-7 victory against Apex Friendship on the 26th. As for Apex, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-0 loss against Green Hope on the 26th.
