Basketball Recap: Hillgrove Piles Up the Points Against Brookwood

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hillgrove walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 61-31 win over the Brookwood Broncos. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Hillgrove's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yolanda Floyd, who posted 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Floyd a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierra Jackson, who had 14 points and five steals.

Hillgrove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. Brookwood's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12.

Looking ahead, Hillgrove will square off against Cherokee on Tuesday. Cherokee will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Hillgrove surely won't give up without a fight. Brookwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
