Football Recap: Tishomingo County Comes Up Short

Tishomingo County blew Belmont out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Belmont got their revenge. The Braves fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 22-20. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Belmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kylei Estes led the charge by rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Estes also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles and defending two passes. Wyatt Phillips helped out on the ground, rushing for 120 yards.

Tishomingo County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Belmont, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tishomingo County will square off against Adamsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Belmont, they will challenge Red Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
