3A Narrows recap Oct. 9, 2012

North Thurston suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after falling to Tumwater. The Rams had been ranked 19th, but fell to 28 following the defeat.

Shelton extended the longest winning streak in 3A Narrows this week by beating Lincoln, 34-28. The victory was the sixth in a row for the High Climbers.

The Abes' dynamic duo of J'Maka Love and Joshua Eckwood proved tough for Shelton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Love threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns and Eckwood had 117 yards receiving. Kashawn Johnson helped Lincoln's passing attack out by catching six balls for 62 yards.

Tavon Murray made the biggest impact on defense this week as Lincoln fell to Matt Hinkle's team. The 5-foot-7 defensive back recorded one fumble.

Ralph Kinne was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 31 carries, he ran for 245 yards as the High Climbers fell to the High Climbers.

The Abes' Love and Eckwood have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Love has thrown for 1058 yards this season, while Eckwood, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 35 catches for 573 yards. Kinne from Shelton leads the league in rushing with 1704 yards.

Two of the top units in 3A Narrows will face off this week when the High Climbers take on North Thurston. Shelton's offense has scored 246 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Rocky Patchin's team has allowed only 70 on the year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the High Climbers take on the Rams. As it stands, Shelton is in first, while North Thurston is in third.

Wilson took down Mt. Tahoma 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
