Softball Recap: Amanda-Clearcreek Comes Up Short

If Amanda-Clearcreek was feeling good fresh off their 20-9 takedown of Hamilton Township on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aces fell 7-4 to the Circleville Tigers on Wednesday. The Aces have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Casadee Steinmetz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Abby King made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Amanda-Clearcreek now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Circleville, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

While Amanda-Clearcreek had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
