Softball Recap: Ridgemont's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After only two runs in their last match, Ridgemont made sure to put some runs up on the board against Allen East on Wednesday. The Golden Gophers walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Mustangs. With that win, the Golden Gophers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Ruth Eckstein was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Kylie Shreve was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Ridgemont's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Allen East, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgemont will challenge Arlington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Gophers are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Allen East, they will face off against Ada at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
