Basketball Recap: Sageview Comes Up Short

Sageview lost to Chiawana back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lobos took a blow against the Riverhawks, falling 73-4. The Lobos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-1.

Chiawana was led to victory by Baylee Maldonado and Chloe Clyde. Maldonado made all 6 shots she took to post 14 points in addition to six assists and five boards, while Clyde went 6-for-8 on her way to 12 points and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Clyde a new career-high in assists (four). Kailee Maldonado was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 11 points.

Sageview's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Chiawana, the win keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Looking ahead, Sageview is taking a road trip to challenge Kennewick at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chiawana, they will be playing at home against Hanford at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Riverhawks are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
