Football Game Preview: Lummi Blackhawks vs. Muckleshoot Tribal Kings

The Lummi Blackhawks will venture away from home to take on the Muckleshoot Tribal Kings at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lummi will be strutting in after a victory while Muckleshoot Tribal will be coming in after a loss.

If Muckleshoot Tribal heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Lummi took over last week. The Blackhawks secured a 20-14 W over Concrete on Friday.

Isaiah Yrizarris was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 168 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.

Yrizarris was just one part of a punishing run game: Lummi was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concrete only rushed for 56.

Meanwhile, Muckleshoot Tribal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Quilcene 52-6.

The win got Lummi back to even at 2-2. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Things could have been worse for Lummi, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 32-18 loss to Muckleshoot Tribal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Blackhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
