With a playoff win on the line, Heritage rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the South Gibson Hornets by a score of 36-29. The Mountaineers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Despite the defeat, South Gibson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jade Reed shot 71% from the field to rack up 11 points and five boards. Reed is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last 11 games she's played.

Heritage's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 29-2. As for South Gibson, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-9.

Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-43 victory against Northview Academy on the 15th. South Gibson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
