Recap: Cosby Titans vs. Manchester Lancers
The Cosby Titans lost against the Manchester Lancers back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Cosby falling 30-11. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Manchester is ranked 41st).
reed hill threw for 93 yards on eight of 16 attempts. Kyle Fowler was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Robert Boyd iv rushed for 122 yards.
The team won by holding Cosby to a paltry no rushing yards and no passing yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Manchester's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out three times before it was all said and done. James Howard was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Cosby's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Manchester, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Cosby will head out on the road to face off against Highland Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Springs will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Manchester will take on Landstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
