Maple Grove had already won 11 in a row and they went ahead and made it 12 on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Hopkins Royals with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Crimson, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Maple Grove won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-23, 25-18.

Maple Grove was led to victory by Amanda Swiers and Tess Schuler. Swiers had 20 assists and six digs, while Schuler had nine digs and two aces. Swiers is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Maple Grove's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Hopkins, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Maple Grove will head out to face off against Wayzata at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hopkins, they will venture away from home to challenge Tartan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
