Volleyball Recap: Hayesville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It was a good run, but Hayesville unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-match winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Cherokee Braves, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Yellowjackets have suffered since September 2nd.

Hayesville was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-18, 25-16.

Cherokee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dvdaya Swimmer, who had 13 digs.

Hayesville's defeat dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Cherokee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Hayesville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Swain County on the 21st. As for Cherokee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against East Wilkes on the 21st.
