Softball Recap: Birmingham's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Thursday just wasn't the day for Birmingham's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Notre Dame (SO) Knights on Thursday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Birmingham's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame (SO), the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Birmingham will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Taft at 3:00 p.m. on April 9th. As for Notre Dame (SO), they will face off against University at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
