Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kearney Catholic). They put the hurt on the Chase County Longhorns with a sharp 17-3 win on Tuesday. Considering the Stars have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Claire Damratowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Kearney Catholic let Kynlee Ruyle and Tessa Colling loose on the outfield. Ruyle scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Colling went 1-for-2 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Cast, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
