Football Recap: Ponderosa Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Ponderosa got themselves on the board against Golden on Friday, but Golden never followed suit. They secured a 6-0 W over the Demons. The six-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Ponderosa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gavin Berninzoni and Logan Vigil. Ponderosa got some further help from Caden Miller: he forced one fumble and made 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Ponderosa's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 7.13 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.28 in the others. As for Golden, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ponderosa will square off against Bear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Golden, they will take on Dakota Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 11.9 points per game this season, so the Demons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
