            Softball Recap: Plainfield Quakers vs. Martinsville Artesians        
        
		
        
        
            Plainfield entered their tilt with Martinsville on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Artesians  a   5-0 shutout. The Quakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Artesians, too.

The result came thanks to  Sidney Parks's shutout, as she gave up just a  hit and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 At the plate,  Kylie Fish was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  Maci Hanlin was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Plainfield  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters  in four consecutive  games.
Plainfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Martinsville,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 6-6 record.
Plainfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Artesians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
