Basketball Recap: Canon City Comes Up Short

Canon City lost against Palmer back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Canon City Tigers had to suffer through a 59-30 loss at the hands of the Palmer Terrors. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Palmer got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was J'Twane Mike out in front who went 6-for-12 to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Mike's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Ayden Yunker was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Canon City dropped their record down to 8-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Palmer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Canon City nor Palmer have any future games scheduled.
