Game recap: Willows High School Football Team wins against Durham

WILLOWS, Calif. - Willows (Calif.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 9 points, drop to five before the final whistle blew on a 15-10 victory over Durham (Calif.).

After taking the lead on a field goal by Daniel Macias in the second quarter, the Honkers led 5-3 at the half.

Willows expanded its lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter. WHS's lone score in the quarter came on a Chris Walter touchdown run.

Macias played well for the Honkers in the victory. The junior kicked two field goals and one extra point.

The Trojans' lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.

Coming into the game Willows had allowed 19.0 points per game this year. WHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept Durham well below the 19.4 points it had been averaging per game.



The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which DHS took, 36-0.

With the win the Honkers extended their winning streak to four games.

In a Sacramento Valley game next week Willows (5-3) takes on Trinity, and Durham (3-5) will go up against Mt. Shasta also in a Sacramento Valley game.
