Softball Game Preview: Fairbanks Panthers vs. Southeastern Local Trojans

The Fairbanks Panthers will face off against the Southeastern Local Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fairbanks 3.2, Southeastern Local 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Fairbanks beat West Jefferson 5-1.

Macy Kise spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anna Dulle, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Jenna Dee was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Southeastern Local waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 3-0 shutout. Three seems to be a good number for the Trojans as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Fairbanks' win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Southeastern Local, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.
