Basketball Recap: South Stokes Takes a Loss

South Stokes suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 68-35 loss at the hands of the East Surry Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Sauras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Cardinals are ranked 33rd).

South Stokes has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for East Surry, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Stokes won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Reagan at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Surry, they will venture away from home to challenge Forbush at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. East Surry has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
