Basketball Game Preview: Douglas County Tigers vs. South Paulding Spartans

The Douglas County Tigers and the South Paulding Spartans will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Douglas County challenged Chapel Hill on Friday. Douglas County fell 74-61 to Chapel Hill. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, South Paulding also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Alexander by a score of 65-55. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Cougars are ranked 34th).

Douglas County's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for South Paulding, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Douglas County came out on top in a nail-biter against South Paulding when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 49-47. Will Douglas County repeat their success, or does South Paulding have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
