Basketball Recap: Kingman Comes Up Short

Kingman lost to Cheney back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles were beaten by the Cardinals 65-33. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Cardinals are ranked 97th).

Kingman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Cheney, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Kingman will challenge Sterling on Tuesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Black Bears have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cheney, they will be taking part in a tournament against Winfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
