Softball Game Preview: J.R. Tucker Tigers vs. Clover Hill Cavaliers

The J.R. Tucker Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Clover Hill Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. J.R. Tucker hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

J.R. Tucker came up short against Godwin on Tuesday, falling 15-2. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 13 runs.

J.R. Tucker saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Shockley, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Clover Hill lost 13-5 to Midlothian on Tuesday. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Cayla Wright and Kristyn Niles stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wright went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Niles scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Clover Hill fell to 2-1. As for J.R. Tucker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

J.R. Tucker might still be hurting after the 18-0 loss they got from Clover Hill in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can J.R. Tucker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
