It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mauldin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Greenwood Eagles 2-1. This was payback for the Mavericks, who suffered a 9-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win made it two in a row for Mauldin and bumps their season record up to 5-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Greenwood, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.
