Volleyball Recap: Pierce Bluejays vs. Milford Eagles
Pierce had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged the Milford Eagles out 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bluejays.
Pierce was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-105), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-13.
Nora Herian paced Pierce's offense, picking up 29 kills. Herian got some help from
Skylar Scholting and her 59 assists. Scholting was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Milford lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Libbie Reil, who had 13 digs and two aces.
Pierce has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 28-5 record this season. As for Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 24-10.
Pierce wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Wahoo on the 8th. Milford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
