Baseball Game Preview: Mayfair Monsoons vs. Firebaugh Falcons

For the second straight game, Mayfair will face off against Firebaugh. The Monsoons will be playing at home against the Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mayfair is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Firebaugh will be up against a hot Mayfair team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Monsoons never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday.

Mayfair got a great performance from David Perez as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Perez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mayfair's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Cummins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and two runs. That's the most hits Cummins has posted since back in March. Ryan Corros was another, scoring a run and stealing three bases.

Mayfair's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Firebaugh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
