Softball Recap: Lucas Takes a Loss

Lucas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-6 to the New London Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cubs of the 9-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Brooklyn Boquette and Destiny Foss stepped up to the plate in a big way. Boquette scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Foss scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Emma Brown also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Lucas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for New London, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucas will host Mt. Gilead at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New London, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Paul at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
