Preview: Upper Perkiomen Indians vs. Norristown Eagles

The Upper Perkiomen Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Norristown Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Upper Perkiomen and nine for Norristown.

Last Friday, Upper Perkiomen suffered a tough 42-21 defeat at the hands of Pottsgrove.

Meanwhile, Norristown was beaten by Spring-Ford 35-6 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Norristown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 414th, while Spring-Ford is ranked 15th).

The losing side was boosted by Rashon Giddens, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown. Giddens' longest reception was for an incredible 92 yards.

Upper Perkiomen's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Norristown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Upper Perkiomen might still be hurting after the 42-21 defeat they got from Norristown in their previous matchup back in October of 2019. Thankfully for Upper Perkiomen, Zion Malone (who rushed for 181 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
