Preview: Sierra Vista Dons vs. Chaparral Pumas
The Sierra Vista Dons are on the road again on Friday and play against the Chaparral Pumas at 5:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Sierra Vista ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past Garden Grove 54-52. The win was just what Sierra Vista needed coming off of a 77-48 defeat in their prior matchup.
Sierra Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaron Buna out in front who scored 15 points along with six assists and six steals. Another player making a difference was Anson Wei, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chaparral had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past La Quinta 64-31 on the road. That looming 64-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Chaparral yet this season.
Sierra Vista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Chaparral, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
