Soccer Recap: Silsbee Comes Up Short

Silsbee lost against Lumberton back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Silsbee came up short against Lumberton, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Silsbee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 680th, while Lumberton are ranked 240th).

Silsbee's goal came courtesy of Levi Swensk, who's now up to two this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Silsbee and nudges their season record down to 7-13-1. As for Lumberton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-5-2 record this season.

Silsbee wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against Port Neches-Groves on the 17th. As for Lumberton, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 win against Hargrave on the 20th.
