Softball Recap: Orestimba Wins Going Away Against Escalon

Orestimba won the last time they faced Escalon and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Warriors have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Orestimba got a massive performance out of Lexi Alves, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Alves has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rae Oliveros, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Orestimba kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Orestimba has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Escalon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Orestimba will face off against Stagg at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Escalon, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sonora at 3:30 p.m. on the 29th.
