Recap: Westampton Tech Panthers vs. Cherokee Chiefs
The Westampton Tech Panthers's 21-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cherokee on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Westampton Tech has scored all season.
Westampton Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shakur Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Damien Moragne was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Westampton Tech's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cherokee, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Westampton Tech won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Holy Cross at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Holy Cross focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. Cherokee will finish 2023 at home by hosting Deptford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Deptford is ranked 124th, while Cherokee is ranked 137th).
