Baseball Recap: Hidden Valley Mustangs vs. Henley Hornets
Hidden Valley extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 12-7 in the process. They fell 5-1 to the Henley Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-0 defeat on Saturday.
As for Henley, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 16-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.
For Henley's part, Beau Pyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Mark Carpenter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
