Basketball Recap: Keystone Heights Falls Despite Big Games from Dereon Tochterman and Michael Petty

Keystone Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They lost 68-48 to the Middleburg Broncos. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-67 back in December of 2024.

Keystone Heights' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Michael Petty, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Dereon Tochterman, who posted 13 points. Brody Stevens was another key player, putting up seven points.

Keystone Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Middleburg, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keystone Heights will take on Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keystone Heights is facing Ridgeview at the right time seeing as Ridgeview is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Middleburg, they will challenge Baker County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Middleburg will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Baker County will have lost three straight heading into Thursday's match.
