Basketball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

If Liberty was riding high fresh off their 76-35 takedown of YES Prep Northside last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Liberty Panthers were beaten by the Livingston Lions 61-29 on Tuesday. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Liberty dropped their record down to 8-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Livingston, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Liberty and Livingston could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Liberty (ranked 1093rd) will meet Hardin-Jefferson (ranked 457th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Livingston will challenge Hargrave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 333 places (450 vs. 117).
