Baseball Game Preview: Century Centurions vs. Estancia Eagles

For the second straight game, Century will face off against Estancia. The Centurions will take on the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Century has five straight victories, Estancia has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Century proved they can win big on Friday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Estancia 2-1.

For Estancia's part, Vaughn McCrea spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. McCrea has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Estancia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Atkinson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Century pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Estancia, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
