For the second straight game, Murrieta Mesa will face off against Murrieta Valley. The Rams will welcome the Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Murrieta Mesa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Murrieta Mesa and Murrieta Valley, and Murrieta Valley kept the tradition alive. The Rams fell 9-5 to the Nighthawks on Wednesday.

For Murrieta Valley's part, they got a great performance from Alex Elizondo as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Elizondo a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Brady Zomerdyke and Diesel Douglas did most of the damage at the plate: Zomerdyke scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Douglas went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave Douglas a new career-high. Gabriel Enriquez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Murrieta Mesa's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Murrieta Valley, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-13.
