Preview: Riverside Generals vs. Nease Panthers
After four games on the road, Riverside is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Nease Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Riverside has not done well against Sandalwood recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. It was close, but Riverside ultimately received the gift of a 32-30 victory from a begrudging Generalssquad.
Meanwhile, Nease scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Columbia by a score of 57-48. The victory was all the more spectacular given Nease's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Columbia is ranked 111th).
Nease found their leader in underclassman Audrey Rollins, who scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that Rollins scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sage Pytel, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Riverside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Nease, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
