Baseball Preview: Providence Day Chargers vs. Central Academy Cougars

The Providence Day Chargers will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Central Academy Cougars at 6:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Tuesday, Providence Day had just enough and edged Sun Valley out 6-5.

Thomas Daly looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (he also didn't allow any walks).

On the hitting side, Ian Cline was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with a triple, a stolen base, and a run. Another player making a difference was Austin Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Meanwhile, Central Academy came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged Cannon out 5-4. The win was just what Central Academy needed coming off of an 11-1 loss in their prior contest.

Central Academy's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jonah Brzuchowski, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Providence Day's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Central Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
