Baseball Game Preview: Columbia Bruins vs. Fort Vancouver Trappers

The Columbia Bruins will face off against the Fort Vancouver Trappers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Columbia beat Kalama 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

Landyn Patnode looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Columbia let Seth White and Wyatt Stelma run wild. White went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI, while Stelma went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Stelma a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Wang, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Columbia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Fort Vancouver lost 24-1 to Seton Catholic on Thursday. The Trappers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fort Vancouver's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Everything went Columbia's way against Fort Vancouver in their previous matchup back in March, as Columbia made off with a 21-4 win. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Trappers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
