If Basalt wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Coal Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Reese Elder. The Titans breezed past the Longhorns to the tune of 55-6 on Friday with plenty of help from Elder, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aliah Ervin, who earned 12 points and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Despite the loss, Basalt saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sylvie Leeds put up no points along with six boards, six blocks, and five steals.

Coal Ridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Basalt, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coal Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-18 win against Wheat Ridge on the 13th. As for Basalt, they have also already played their next contest, a 33-25 defeat against Moffat County on the 13th.
