Volleyball Recap: Clinton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Clinton and Anderson County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Dragons came up short against the Mavericks, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dragons have suffered since September 8th.

Clinton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Anderson County work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 26-24, 25-21.

Parker McGhee paced Clinton's offense, picking up 11 kills. McGhee got some help from Alaina Staudenmaier and her 17 assists. Finally, Claire Barrett kept Clinton's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Emerie Bullock went supernova For Anderson County., getting 23 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Bullock has posted over her last nine matchups.

The defeat snapped Clinton's winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 27-13 record. As for Anderson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-15 record this season.
