Everything went their way against Westminster Christian as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.
The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Duchesne came up short against St. Francis Borgia on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.
Duchesne started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 25-8, 25-10.
St. Dominic will need to focus on slowing down Tyler Severs, one of several Duchesne players who made an impact when they last played. He had ten digs and three assists.
Duchesne's loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for St. Dominic, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: St. Dominic has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Duchesne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
St. Dominic took their victory against Duchesne in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score.
