Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Local Comes Up Short

Buckeye Local lost against East Liverpool back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Potters. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 25-14.

Jenna DelVecchio paced Buckeye Local's offense, picking up nine kills. DelVecchio got some help from Samantha Westfall and her nine assists. DelVecchio was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Ayla Riggle, who had 16 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

Buckeye Local's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for East Liverpool, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Buckeye Local is taking a road trip to square off against Martins Ferry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Liverpool, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Carrollton on the 30th.
