Softball Recap: Sutter Takes a Loss

Sutter extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Destiny Christian Academy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

Lexi Callison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Destiny Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

On Destiny Christian Academy's side, McKayla Fulmer was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Maddilyn Woodcock was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Sutter has already played their next matchup, a 10-4 defeat against Casa Roble on the 30th. As for Destiny Christian Academy, they will face off against Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
