Softball Game Preview: Mohonasen Warriors vs. Niskayuna Silver Warriors

The Mohonasen Warriors will head out to square off against the Niskayuna Silver Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither Mohonasen nor Niskayuna posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Mohonasen's last matchup with Lansingburgh could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Warriors lost 6-0 to the Knights.

Meanwhile, Niskayuna came up short against Bethlehem Central on Tuesday and fell 6-2. The Silver Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Ella Rodgers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

Mohonasen's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Niskayuna, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Mohonasen came out on top in a nail-biter against Niskayuna when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
