Preview: Ossining Pride vs. Tuckahoe Tigers
The Ossining Pride will be home for the holidays to greet the Tuckahoe Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Ossining is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Ossining was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-50 to Nyack. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ossining has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ty'asia Carver, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Nicole Perriott, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Ossining were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tuckahoe had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Walter Panas on the road and fell 85-40. Tuckahoe was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-14.
Ossining's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Tuckahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
