Soccer Game Preview: Aspen vs. Rifle

Aspen hasn't had much luck against Rifle recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Skiers will look to defend their home pitch against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Aspen will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Thursday, then bounced right back against Colorado Rocky Mountain on Tuesday. The Skiers came out on top against the Oysters by a score of 5-3.

Aspen's offense was hitting Colorado Rocky Mountain from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Rifle had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Delta on Thursday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Rifle were the better team in the second half.

Aspen's win bumped their record up to 3-4-6. As for Rifle, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-1.
