Preview: Colome vs. Colman-Egan
If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Colome. It's playoff time, and they and Colman-Egan are set to clash on Thursday at 7:00 PM. Colome know how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Colman-Egan like a good challenge.
Colome brought a eight-game winning streak into their matchup against Gayville-Volin last Thursday; they left with a nine-game streak. Colome put a hurting on Gayville-Volin to the tune of 62-8. Senior Jackson Kinzer, who rushed for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Colome's success. That makes it nine straight good games in a row from Kinzer.
Meanwhile, Colman-Egan put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They took the contest and then some with a 60-10 victory over Bison. That looming 50-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Colman-Egan yet.
Their wins bumped Colome to 9-0 and Colman-Egan to 7-2. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
