Softball Recap: Boylan Catholic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rockford East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boylan Catholic). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rockford East E-Rabs a 21-0 shutout on Wednesday. With that win, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Ari Ousley and Dez Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ousley tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Moore tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Ousley went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Moore went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two doubles gave Ousley a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sophia Banks was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddy Kiley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Boylan Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Boylan Catholic broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-6. As for Rockford East, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
